ok, i work in Blacks, and sell those lanterns. ive also bought one myself and tried it camping two months ago.its awful. u get a gud 5-8 metre range on it, but the light is so blue and low contrast that u cant see much without putting it right close. my advice? if ur going by car to a campsite - take a rechargeable flourescent tube lantern. no extra batteries, just bosh it in the car during the day. and that casts a hell of a light, lets just say in our camping area when we had a black out (and our camping area is about 4 metres by 10) it lit the whole thing. u can get them from eurohike too, all about 29.99, tho u can get the eurohike for less (unless u want a remote controlwith it...oooo lol). basically dont ever use LED cus its awful, regardless of the battery use. either use a flourescent tube lantern or an old skool gas powered one.
