If you've got a very old Porta Potti, you will find that most of the "O" ring rubber seals will need replacing as rubber goes hard and cracks after a long period. These are the seals on the inlet / outlet caps and the sliding cover in the bowl. Happily Thetford and other manufacturers do make these "O" rings available in many camping shops etc.
By the way, if you use petrolium gel (eg. Vasaline) regularly on these seals, they will last for years.
