Hi all, I have a MIO 269 and have always been able to lock on in the house in a minute or so, my living room, where I use it frequently whilst planning the next holiday, faces northwest.

If used on an aircraft it would be quite interesting to see what speed is displayed.

I used my Garmin Etrex on a plane & it indicated the same speed as was on the Plane's display screen. It predicted the ETA reasonably accurately too. I'm not sure how the ones designed for vehicle navigation would cope but, as I also have a quest, I might give it a try sometime.
