Has anybody had experience of fitting a solid fuel stove in either a caravan or mobile home? What where the problems with regards to insulating the heat from sensitive areas, providing a suitable position for the stove and what was the best method of ventilation.
Hi Carter, I may have missed something, but the last caravan I saw fitted with solid fuel was either drawn by a horse or steam engine. A romantic idea of solid fuel,, loved my coal fire. Apart as you say insulation problems, the weight would be enormous and can't imagine too many sites accepting it.
There was a guy near here who made a solid fuel stove from an old gas bottle. Ideal size, and he just kept it away from anything inflammable and set it in a sheet of steel. Flue was a 4" pipe which protruded about 12" above the roof.

I like the odd drink. Five is odd, seven is odd, nine is odd...........
I have had experience with boats and did fit a stove in a fibreglass boat. There are lots of small sealed stoves on the market,(boat yards) I used heat resistance marble affect sheets behind the flue and directly behind the stove.
