thank you all for the replies, just purchased the dual fuel coleman, cant wait for the first trip !!! managed to get 3 x 33floz MSR fuel container for 7 pound each ! so i'm all set , tempted to buy a coleman dual fuel lantern. AND a waffle iron............they look sooooooooooooooo cool and my daughter loves waffles..i'm getting the urge to pitch that tent !!
We have a coleman 424 stove and it is great... we have 2 generators, one is soaked in parafin while the other is used... when it starts to coke up (you will know cause you wont be able to get rid of orange flame) swap em.. alternatively, when you get the orange flame, when you get home soak generator for a week or so... does the job a treat... just watch when you dismantle, the needle really does fly!
the lanterns are also great.. really bright, and if you put somewhere sensible in the tent before bedtime, really get rid of the damp and warm the tent a treat.
we have had coleman 424,a single ring multifuel and double mantle lamp for five years now without a single problem, and they really get some use!
would always highly recomend them to anyone, just be careful and follow the instructions and there should be no probs.
always carry a couple of spare mantles and weve discoverd that camping gaz brands also fit so you dont have to worry about trying to hunt out coleman ones.
