Can't recommend any generators, but have read on one thread here recently about generators in general.
I agree with some of the posts that I would be well miffed having a generator run for hours next to me on a site, no matter how quiet it was.
Perhaps this should be considered when purchasing one.
Depends what you hope to run off it really as to what size to get, are you transporting it etc.
Four stroke are always quieter than two strokes but cheap two strokes are all over the place at the moment as the US is banning two stroke engines due to emissions.
None of them is quiet though.
Can you be more specific as to its use?

If you are on a larger site you will have EHU. Lots of smaller sites have them too. Ones which don't are often used by those who really want to get away from it all and enjoy some peace and quiet, so would not appreciate a generator being used.
However if you are in a field on your own, or at a rally where lots of other people are using them then that would be different.
Quiet ones are generally quite expensive. If you do a search on here you may find some answers.
Hi Andrewsgirl,
We use both a Honda Eu10 or a Honda Eu20 depending on the length of trip. These generators are very quite, and if you point the exhaust into trees etc most people would not even know it is running. They might seem expensive but they will last years, but just make sure you really need one as most times you can get away without using one.
