We've got a couple of cheap ones (£10) from Carrefour in France - they are OK as long as you don't get them too wet!!   We've also got a really expensive (£80!) from a camping shop which is taller and more stable (it has individual adjustable feet) and we use as a cooking table as the OH is tall.

With hindsight the expensive table is great but possibly not worth the extra money although it is much easier for OH to work at and I'm sure will last for ever.

Woolies usually have cheap ones for £15 ish.  We also bought a really cheap roll up aluminimum table for washing up as the cheap hardboard tables really don't like getting wet - we prefer this to just a washing up stand (we often camp where there are no washing up facilities).

The other thing to bear in mind (we didn't!) is to make sure you can get whatever you buy in your car boot!  We can only get the expensive one in my (huge!) Saab boot by dropping the back seat down (so no passengers).  We had to buy a big enough roof box to take it which cut down our choice of roof boxes hugely...

Try to go and see a few displays and think about what you might use the table for. We've gone for taking a couple of the cheapy tables rather than taking the big table and having to take the roof box.

Hi I agree. We bought a table from Woolworths a couple of years ago. I think it cost £12 and it folds flat. There is just 2 of us and it is ideal. I went back to try and purchase another one but they had sold out. I'm sure they get a supply in every summer.

I eventually bought another table from a web site. I have attached a link and they have a decent variety. The same type of table is the one with the wood effect top and it's a little bit more expensive. Hope this helps.

I think the ones with individually adjustable legs are worth the extra. Ours came from Attwools 15 years ago and is still going strong http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/directory2/details.asp?revid=245&typeid=  furniture  bit steep at £49.99 but very stable

we started off with an alluminium roll up one but you couldnt get your legs under it properly to eat at it, now we use an oval Lafuma table with adjustable legs, it was expensive but i think it was worth the money as it gives the four of us loads of space when having tea. It does fold in half .

Hi , depends if you have the room to transport it- trailer  etc if so I would go for a fold in half type  melomine type top ,if not then a roll up aluminium one, but be careful not to put too much weight, lean on the edge of the aluminium roll up type as the side tubes easily bend then the tables had it,though they are handy if carrying space is limited , (our one from woolies lasted two trips only).

Just to add to the discussion I'm looking for a decent table for 5 of us. Sadly the World of Camping one above is too big but most of the proper camping ones seem to be designed for 4 - with the ends having metal-work across in one way or another stopping us seating a 5th person on the end.

Does anyone have a recommendation?
