We have just used for the first time the Easi porch Awning which we bought to use for 1 or  2 night breaks. I wonder if anyone out there can tell me what the small extra pole is for? Nothing mentioned on instructions - we have the 3 main poles which form the structure and this odd pole? Approx 2.5 feet long with flattened ends and clip in the centre? Would appreciate any info? We have to say how pleased with were with the Easi Porch.  It did take us longer than the said 5 minutes to put up for the first time but hope that with trial and error we will be able to master it in 5 mins!! The weather we had last weekend was windy with torrential rain but the Easi Porch withstood it all. So we are very happy with it.  Will stick to full awning for longer breaks but we have the option if forecast is wet! Easy to take down and dry out!

That must be the pole you hit your other half with when you're putting the awning up and they don't do what you tell them to!

Sorry - Wish I had a more helpful answer but I don't

I too would like to know what the extra pole is for, we are going to be using the one we bought from UKCS for the first time this weekend.

Any advice would be welcome

Hi,

its the roof pole. When the porch is up the pole lies along the centre of the roof (inside) and fits into two pouches. The pole extends to make it taut. We have used the porch twice now, both times quite windy and this last time windy and wet lol. We haven't needed to use the roof pole at all.

HTH

Yes, there is a pocket sewn in to the roof at each end, put the pole in, and extend it until it is tight, then lock it . The extra pole is in fact in sections - the middle bit might be stuck in the first time you use it, so try a pair of small nosed pliers to pull it out . Once it's out it will probably become obvious . Hope that helps
