Me and hubby bought a normal one to take with us and we felt very restricted in there, wouldnt recommend them!!! In the end we decided to take it off us and was just put in the corner, total waste of money!!! I am not talking about the fleece ones not sure what they are like but the normal ones are horrid!!!
I hate mummy bags so wouldn`t use a mummy liner. I made fleece liners to fit our square-ended Vango Astral bags out of cheap fleece blankets from Ikea. I`ve also got cotton ones made from Asda Smartprice (?) cotton sheets. I stitch the sides up to about waist height....never had any problems getting in or out of them and they seem cosy enough at the shoulders.
Atko, liners for bags serve the same purpose as wearing underwear....easy washing of the layer that gets most dirty, and another layer of insulation, like wearing thermal long underwear.
Incidentally, for chilly mortals out there, a set of thermal long underwear and wool socks are ideal sleeping wear, rather than cotton jammies.
Go Outdoors sell cotton, silk and fleece sleeping bag liners. The silk were too expensive (about £20 each) and the fleece ones were quite bulky, so we went for cotton - hope we are warm enough!
The other good thing about them is in the summer it can be to warm for sleeping bag s and you can just use the fleece liner on its own or if you use a quilt in summer if its a bit chilly you can use the fleece liner with the quilt for extra warmth and they dont feel cold when you get in.
