Hi Geoff,

If your van has a built-in charger, which most newish vans should have, there should be a switch which allows you to turn the charger on/off. This would normally be situated somewhere near your MCB/fuse panel. Otherwise, if you look in the vicinity of the battery cupboard (in lockers, under lift-up panels, etc) i would have thought you would find the charger itself.

Paul.

Did you buy a Leisure Battery from a caravan place?   If so they should have known your van had a charger.  However if you store the van away from home a separate charger would probably be needed at home to keep the battery charged up ( remove the battery and keep it at home ).

How old is the van?  Not sure when they started coming with chargers but it must be a good while back.

Hi,

Our 1992 Van has a built in charger which can recharge the battery either when we are on EHU or using our generator (only when on rallies).  In the winter when we aren't using the van hubby charges the battery by using a battery charger so that it doesn't become drained.
