Hi

Looking for someone to reassure us that we can fit a set of roof bars and roofbox to our picasso - problem is that it has a double sunroof and more people are telling us that we cant do it than we can.

Has anyone done this and have you had any problems?  Where did you get them and how much were they.

Hoping for a positive (but truthful) response!

Fiona

Hi Fiona

You can fit roof bars and a roof box to your Picasso with a sunroof, HOWEVER you will have to buy the genuine Citroen roof bars because they are the only ones thin enough to fit in the mounting points and be able to operate the sunroof. I use Thule roof bars on my Picasso but the mounting kit is quite wide but I don't have the sunroof. Once you have purchased the roof bars you can use any roof box you like. The price for new genuine bars at a dealer will be about £70, but they do also pop up on ebay, but try not to pay any more than £50 for them if this is the case. Hope this helps. The main problem I have is that having short legs it gets quite athletic trying to put our bikes on the roof of the Picasso.

Jon

Thanks Jon

The price I have been quoted from our local Citroen dealer is £99 BUT they are in the process of checking if it will work or not.  I'd gladly pay more right now cause having ordered the new tent yesterday, we cant go with all our gear without the box so it is essential.  They said it may be weekend before they can let us know so just wanted a bit of assurance from a fellow picasso owner - thanks for your assurances.

Hi Fiona,

We have roof bars on our picasso.  We have the big sunroof on our car and have had to have citreon roof bars put on but everything works fine.  As mentioned above, any roofbox will fit - ours was from motorworld.

Have to confess that we now have a trailer as well..  I can't stop buying new stuff!

I have just had Citroen roofbars fitted to my picasso for £99. Really pleased with them, but have experienced some amount of wind noise. Hope this wont get any worse when the roofbox is fitted?

Cant comment about roof bars and a sunroof on a picaso but what i have noticed when we have our roof box on our picaso is that its  bloody high up and I stand at 5ft 11 have to usally stand in the doorways to put anything in to the roof box . Oh and dont forget that you wont fit your car in to high rise car parks with the roof box on as you are well over the height limit .

Thanks everyone for comments.  Glad I am now reassured that we can get one.  Will have to eat more sprouts though so that we can fill it!

I have a full set of fully reconditioned Picasso Alloys if anyoneis interested. Got then blasted, painted and oven baked just before trading in the car for a C8. Never been used since they came back from being done. No wheel nuts though.
