Hi we have fitted a set of  Paddy Hopkirk roof bars toour Mondeo mrk3 and the noise from them is ear pircing as soon as you go above 28 miles a hour. At first we thought it was the arial vibrating on them but we have elliminated that. So was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so how did you solve it.

There is one good thing there is no chance of getting a speeding ticket as the noise reminds you. But there again I think we would cause a few problems on the motorway going at that speed.

Thanks

Thanks for your help we had thought it was the ariel but after taping it down we established it wasn't that .So we will now have ago at filling all holes.

We certainly got some looks on sunday driving through Yorkshire Dales even the sheep and cows where putting their trotters in their ears it is that loud and painfull.

Hi

I had the same problem, but mine were fitted to a mondeo estate which had roof rails. This gave me the option of moving the crossbars further back which did seem to make a big difference. But this obviously will only work if you have the roof rails on the estate. This was suggested by Paddy Hopkirk when I emailed them with the same problem.

Anyway hope this works, if not turn the music up!!

Best regards

Andy
