thinking of geting one of these. Can anyone inform of how long gas lasts for (average) and where they can be purchased. Someone suggested millets, is this correct
Kinda think they last for two or 3 evenings on full blast.
Both myself and the other half have been burnt on em (in exactly the same place - right wrist) a year apart, So take care with them
Heat isnt variable once its on its on we found ours great last september when the evenings got a bit chilly .havent burned myself on it yet presumably those that have did so whilst switching it on.

We love our Black Cat - warms up the tent a treat. yes you have to be careful with it, but then that's no different to any other form of heating (except perhaps a fan heater). Not sure about how long the cartridges last, never really timed them - I'd definitely recommend them.
Same as previous comments, wouldn't be without ours. Cannisters seem to last forever as we only ever use it for half an hour or so at a time. We have a large tent and the black cat gives us plenty of heat. The were on offer at GO OUTDOORS a couple of weks back so may be checking now.
yes go outdoors do them saw them yesterday, can't remember how much they were. We use ours a lot, but just be careful when putting them on as it 'flashes' when you ignite, but after that there is no flame.
thanks folks for the info , think will be getting one on the basis of all your recommendations. Not really wanting to go down ehu avenue ( pride) i guess. But think it will help us extend our camping season with the kids. Now just got to fine the best/cheapest gas for it. Any suggestions again folks?
