Does anyone know  of a light that can be used with one of those power cubes, which i recently bought from lidls?

I have a light to use with EHU but not available this weekend, so stuck as it only runs on a traditional plug, (can't remember wattage) but is there an adaptor? cos the cube uses cigarette lighter connection.

Does that make sense!?

Best bet would be a fluorescent 'inspection lamp' for use in a car. Could try Wilkinsons or Halfords.

this one at Machine Mart

Netto's have an adapter thing on offer at the mo, it's 14.99 if I remember right. It has the cigarette style fitting on one end and a 3 point plug at the other.

That will work but bear in mind that the small inverters are relatively inefficient, that is they consume a significant amount of power themselves in the process of increasing the 12V to 230V. Given the already limited capacity of the power pack this additional wastage will reduce the amount of time it will be capable of powering the light.

Hi

I also purchased a power pack from lidls with the thought of using my existing 12v fluorescent strip light from it.

The light you are explaining I assume to be 240v which, as rightly said would require an inverter but would quickly drain the power pack.

Whereas using a 12v 13W fluorescent strip light should last approx 6hours on a full power pack, think these cost from about £8 upwards.

The 12v strip lights generally come with spring crocodile clips to attached to battery terminals, and on the reverse of the power pack is a flap which houses these +'ve and -'ve terminals, put red to red and black to black.

Alternatively you could replace the crocodile clips with a simple ciggy lighter socket available from the likes of towsure/maplins/halfords etc then use the front socket on the pack.

Hope this helps

Andy
