Sueandjohn, the advantage is size! We use the bags with a BWL, the Bucket travels out with the gas bottle and the stock pot inside of it so takes up no additional room. The bags take up no space at all. Plus because the bags can go in the bin, you don't have to have facilities to empty a porti-potti and its chemicals.
The PETT toilet,also appears to take up very little space and is more portable than a porta-potti.
I was thinking about using the pooh powder, as i can get my own biodegradable bags, but did you see the price of the powder, inc p&p about £60... expensive business .. human waste!.. Love to know whats in that powder.

If you're only using the loo overnight, why not use 'Fullers earth' granules (as used in cat litter) in the bag with a drop of disinfectant... Cheap & it's ecologically friendly too!...
