Have a look here, we use the Khyam garden shelter and have had it for about 3 years, the makers say that it's shower proof but all we had to do was use some seam sealer over some of the stitching holes, apart from that it's been brilliant for cooking and storage

We've just bought the Outwell Oklahoma, ony used it the once but it was brilliant (especially as it rained most days and we had to squeeze 7 of us in to eat). To be honest I'm not sure what we would have done without it!

Anyhow, my point is that you may well want to consider the bigger day tents as it's amazing how the space disappears when all the equipment's set up. I think also it's easier to eat where you are cooking, it saves you dashing in and out when you've forgotten something - dodging the raindrops. (Am I being pessimistic by any chance).

Thats exactly what we found, with the day tent you can either roll up one or more of the doors or prop a door open to form a canopy then if it is raining you can sit and watch whilst eating your spag bol

We've just bought that utility tent.  Looking forward to using it for the first time.  We just bought a diablo 900, and will use the utility tent to cook in.

We also use the Sunncamp Handy utility, which is , by the way, identical to the model that you mention. We find it a fantastic way to cook out of the weather as well as storing the odds and bits that you don't need in the main tent.

I know that many people swear by day tents, mainly because of their size. But we found that we are already lugging a bulky heavy tent, and did not want yet another big load in the car. At only 7.5kg, the utility is no great stain on the car suspension.

Also, with the main tent, there is plenty of room in there to live and eat, negating the need for a day tent. By the way, I am not anti day tent or anything as they are very useful bits of kit, but they just lack practicallity for some with the large(ish) size and weight as opposed to a utility tent.
