Mossie rep seems to be one of those things where on type will work for some people but not for others. ISTR that you can get mossie rep bands now, not sure how they work but might be worth a try. Citronella oil seems to work reasonably well
A lot of people swear by Avon 'Skin so Soft' dry oil spray... It's not marketed as an insect repellant, but it works!... The stuff is very cheap too, three bottles for £6 on the 'Avon' website...
After trying just about every remedy that works for other people - Vit B, Citronella, Jungle formula, Garlic, Vinegar, we tried Avon skin so soft, worked for the family, but I still got bitten.
So yesterday, the Clearlite arrived in the post (very speedy delivery), I sat out in the paddling pool last night, single malt in hand, clearlite floating in a bowl about a foot away. Swarm of mozzies circling overhead!!!
A few mozzies took the plunge into the pool, and I wasn't bitten, but they were still there.
No one else in the family has any problems, just me.

I have tried the mossie bands, they didn't work all that well for me
eat brown bread - the wheat germ has stuff in it that keeps the flys away, I know it works cuz my kids never eat their crusts and they are always flapping their arms around like epileptic windmills.
Mossi guard for me Citronella candles for the table
Whilst not infallible they do work to about 80% efficiency
I also find that I get one or two serious bites in one go, react and then appear to be ok for the rest of year, but I never know what it is that is doing the biting
