Hello All, Have any of You got a recomendation for a good quality camp bed for my wife, she has a bad back and needs good support, We have a Montana 6 so height is not the issue. Alternatively I see these extra height blow up mattresses advertised has anyone purchased one of these and do they give good back support, Thanks in advance, Sean.
I have a bad back and we got a double height queen size airbed ( actually it's two airbeds zipped together ) I slept like a log on it and no aches and pains next morning - would definitelt recommend !
Agree with Skatty, you can't beat the Coleman dual chamber airbeds. My parents slept like logs when they last came camping with us and they are notorious for not sleeping. They said the airbed was as comfortable if not more than at home.
think sleeping like a log while camping has more to with the fresh air than the bed.
It helps to only put enough air in a airbed so when u press it in the middle with you hand frimly you can feel the ground, so when you both get on it, it evens out and feels firm and supportive and not rock hard.
or just use cots..
Or how about a camp-bed with a cheap self-inflating mattress on the top for a bit of comfort. That way you get the support but with a bit of luxury too! Best nights sleep camping was when I used this combination - cost: camp-bed ~£8 (Argos), self-inflating mattress £12 (Lidls)

Thats true of most airbeds but doesnt apply to the coleman ,You inflate it fully ,solid if you like ,and it still dont bounce/roll you off .
I've been using the Colman dual chamber air bed for a while, but I always have a problem with the 'indents' in it (see the illustration above) I know they're on all airbeds, and that I shouldn't be having this problem (think princess and the pea !!) When I saw a double self-inflating airbed recently, I jumped at the chance to buy it. Not to use in it's own right, but to put on top of the colman airbed - as self-inflating mattresses have no 'indents', I have found this combination to be wonderful !!!
I have to admit, it wasn't a cheap option, at £40 for the self-inflating mattress, on top of the colman airbed (which I bought last year for £20-ish?? Not sure) but I will never go back to anything else the way I feel this week - after sleeping on it all last week, I didn't once have a twinge anywhere, or a problem getting comfy like I normally do. I'm one very happy camper
