If it has a normal 3 pin 230v plug attached to the unit then there should be no reason why you cant plug it in.
One thing I might suggest is make sure that there is no little switch which would be used as a voltage selector ie a switch which would be labelled 12v and 230v, I dont think there will be but just make sure.
Are you looking at one of these, if so then I think you might also need one of these to connect it to the 230v mains supply, but I would first check with the dealer before buying.
I was just wondering cause it comes with both leads. Would it not be ok to use the 12v cigarette lighter for in the car then change to the other normal 3 pin for on the campsite???

If it comes with both leads then you should be fine, you can use the 12v as you are driving along (remember to turn of when you stop the engine) then use the 3pin for the 230v mains.
