Hi at the risk of appearing a complete dolt am going away for the first time with my combicool and am hoping to run it on gas....Question....does it matter what size of gas bottle you use? Will it run on the propane gas (orange bottles) Or do I have to get calor gas? I know i sound stupid but dont want to arrive on site in this heat and find I cant work the fridge. Thanks in advance for any help.------------- charsam

It shouldntmatter what colour your going for
a 6kilo bottle will go a long way
you could even consider investing in the new BP bottles that way you can see how much is in your bottle

It will run on either propane or butane gas, but of course you must have the correct regulator for the type of gas you choose.
I would hook the whole thing up and have a dry run at home. CombiCools can be fiddly to light until you get the knack of it.

I use a campingaz 907 cylinder (2.7 kg). Powering only the fridge it lasts around nine days.
Because the gas consumption is low, it takes a long time to 'prime' the hose between the regularor and the fridge, expecially if it's a long connection. Keep the control knob depressed for a good while before pressing the spark igniter.

We use 4.5kg bottles a little larger than the campingaz 907, but a lot cheaper ...... each bottle size has it's own regulator,
Certainly test it at home first - we did ours - and as said before, it can be a bu**a to light lol
