HI JUST STARTING OUT AS A NEW CARAVANNER AND WANT TO GET SOME WINDBREAKS NOT GOT A BIG CARAVAN AND UNSURE HOW MANY WINDBREAKS I WILL NEED? HOW MANY IS ENOUGH ANY IDEAS? ALSO WHERE CAN I GET THEM FROM?
We got our windbreaks from Tesco summer sale a couple of years ago - £2.50 each, SUCH a bargain. How many you need depends on how much privacy you want, we saw a caravan at Montrose completed enclosed by windbreaks - never seen THAT before. Either they weren't very friendly or they had a dog/small children that they wanted to keep contained!
------------- Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.
We have two windbreaks - we use them primarily for a bit of privacy and to stop neighbouring kids wandering right infront of our pitch and over the top of our lunch - one even walked across a paper I had been reading seconds earlier !
You can either pick up the striped kind from Wollies or a large supermarket - £5-£10 that you just bang into the ground with a mallet or a more expensive "camping brand" such as Kyham for around £20-£30.which is held in place with guys etc.
millets have reduced the euro hike nylon windbreaks from £25 to £16.99. argos also do the standard beach-type wind breaks in varies sizes starting from £9.99 i think.
i brought the euro hike one from millets yesterday but found it a pain to put up and too many guyropes to trip up over so been to argos and got the beach-type one instead
We bought an outwell windscreen and as it takes longer to pitch than our coleman sahara, we dont't end up using it! last trip we moved every night so faffling around with the windbreak was too much like hard work! We got it to contain our toddler but I suspect even if we had about four of the things it wouldn't be room enough to contain him!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
