I am packing for a week's camping in Dorset.  How many towels do people take with them?  It's just me (one adult) and two young children.

Thanks for any contributions.

Depends how the weather is and if you have a tumble drier on your site.

One each plus one each for the beach should be sufficient.

Have a nice holiday,
Mike

It also depends on how often you shower/wash.......not being flippant.

We make a bath towel last 2 showers, if we can dry it after the first shower.

So as a 'ball park figure', if you shower once a day you'll need 3 each (but I'd make that four each) + at least 1 hand towel each........but if you allow for not being able to dry the towels then it'll be 7 each + a couple of hand towels each.......but if you shower twice a day then double either of the above....arghhhhhhhh, not easy is it

i would say 1 each for showering and a couple for the beach as these tend to get sandy and arent very nice to dry with after a shower unless your exfoliating of course!

We take one each, plus an extra beach towel each if there are beaches or swimming pools on the trip - and one hand towel for all 3 of us.

If we are away for more than a few days, then we wash & tumble them.

Thanks everyone (I think?).  Looks like I should put a couple more in the bag.

I always pack plenty of towel for everyone.   Then there is less of a problem of trying to get them dry.   As they can be squashed into various places in the car I'm not trying to fit a big bag of towels anywhere.
