I suppose it depends on what you are looking for really. Decathlon do sell tents, gear etc, but it sells more sports gear than anything. If you are after anything special it might be worth looking at their website 1st just in case. It would be worth your while if you take in the other shops like morticiaskeeper suggests. There is also Towsure at Halesowen.

We normally go there and Go Outdoors in Coventry, both very good stores with good prices. We haven't tried towsure yet but I'm sure we will at some point. I have been told its a little expensive.
Sorry, had a big problem with Towsure that was never resolved. I'm very ware of them now. Was a bit disapointed lasttime I went there. But it is only 10 minutes from Decathlon.
Jacksons is a real alladins cave, I bet it's still cold in there, it was blood freezing last time we went.
Go Outdoors is the biggest, but they've closed the cafe down to make more shop space
Midwest is just a small shop attached to a garden centre.
Barretts have a large outdoor display. The shop is quite small but well stocked.
Attwools is massive, second only to Go, prices are a bit high, though.
Decathlon is a sports shop. Only own brand camping gear, but excellent quality. We're going there tomorrow for pegs, repair patches, climbing rope, walking boots, waterproofs, t- shirts, drinks powders etc... etc...
same as above really been to decathlon today looking at cycle racks which ended up cheaper than argos so well pleased
they sell all sorts of sports equipment i bought my first tent from them and it was excellent. but for a more varied camping shop i would try the other recommendations from the others
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
