Hello all,
have just bought a Thule 971 tow bar bike rack off ebay, which has electrics and a number plate board.
I plugged the lead into the black socket (I have grey and black) and the indicators worked, as do the brake lights, but should the normal driving lights work as well, and what about reversing and fog lights?
Thanks
Dan

Hi Dan, all the lights should work if wired correctly and the bulbs are ok.

Thanks for that Phil - looks like it may be defective then :-(
I suppose a new lighting board, if that's what it needs, isn't too bad.

I would imagine it only needs the plug and wiring looked at. It should be just like plugging the caravan in - rear lights, brake lights, indicators (with whatever indication you have)The board does not have reverse lights and the high level brake light is a Thule extra. Best try and plug into someone elses car then you can eliminate either bike rack wiring or car wiring------------- You never know, if you never go

Yep that's a good idea, sister has a towbar car, so can try that eventually.
First use is on Saturday during the day, so won't need driving lights anyway, indicators and brake lights are fine, and that's the main thing.
Thanks
Dan
