We are off to Beddgelert (Snowdon) on Sat for a week. We have all the anti-mosi oils wipes etc, but can anyone recommend some decent citronella candles and where from please. Also has anyone just returned from Cae Du campsite and could let us know the mosi situation at the moment. Thankyou in advance. ------------- Where

Just got back from a weekend in Drbyshire and one of my friends had a mosi-coil burner which was like a flattish screw top tin a bout 6" in diameter with a pierced top and a hanging hook. You light the coil and the smoke lasted about 5 hours - it seemed to be quite effective but I don't know where she got it from.

Try looking at this thread, everyone there seems to recommend clearlite lamps. I have just bought one but not used t in anger yet so cannot comment.

Hi
We were at Cae Du a fortnight ago, only for one night and we had to go to bed they were pretty bad. We stupidly forgot the repellant and any candles.
I've since bought a clearlite lamp on the recommendation of people on here

You can also try burning incense sticks as we found they worked better than citronella candles on the Scottish midges the other week.------------- Caz

We use the yellow citronella tealights from Morrisons/Asda. Never had any bother with insects and the smell is nice too.------------- ...................................................... o##= ..........................................................

We used the citronella candles from B&M.. £1.99 for a pack of one large candle and 4 small in pots. We had no problem with mossies when we used them.

We used a citronella candle from Makro(the candle is in a plant pot). It only costed £2.50 and it was very efficient and nice smell too.

Noticed in our £ shop today - huge anti-mozzy incense coils which say they last 72 hours. For outside use only.------------- Caz
