Hi all,
I need to ask a question that I hope has been asked before - or am I just stupid!!! - how do I know how much gas is left in my 907 bottle and how long will it last?
------------- live for today ..... tomorrow could go pear shaped!!!
You can`t know for sure how much is left in a bottle, though there are complicated and inaccurate methods involving weighing the bottle or pouring hot water down the side.
Similarly, you can`t tell exactly how long a bottle will last because you have to take into account how many appliances you`ve been running off a bottle , how long you`ve been running them for and how high you turned the appliance up.
I long ago gave up trying to figure out either of the above, and now I take a second gas bottle.
At one time you used to be able to buy a hanging spring type scales which you would hook onto the bottle screw cap and weigh the bottle this would indicate how light the bottle was and you could subtract that from the weight of a full bottle to give the amount of gas left. How long gas will last is dependant on use. kiev
W pour hot water over ours if we are not sure how full/empty it is, the gaz is cold and you will see a distinctive line once the hot water has been poured on it, this indicates the level of gaz left in the cylinder.
