We have an Eberspacher Airtronic D4 heating systems, that most of the time works at the start up point, heats the van and then 'sort of forgets it is on' and just sits there with the on light illuminted, but not heating.
I wondered if anyone else had expereinced this porble and or if anyone had any ideas for how to correct the problem.
I have an Eberspacher heater in my lorry, it runs all the time once it's turned on & picks up its pace when the temperature drops. Yours is probably very different from mine though. I suggest you give them a call & speak with their technical guys.
Thinking about it, I had a problem with one a few years ago where it would run & the fan would blow but no heat was present. I rang Eberspacher for advice & was told there was a re-set button on the top of the model D1LC, I wonder if your unit might have the same facility. It was under a grommet, you just pushed the centre of the grommet to re-set the heater. I'm assuming your heater burns diesel, the fault on my last one was the glow plug, Eberspacher sell a kit to sort this problem out, again you'll need to call them to find out if such a kit is available for your unit. Once I'd established the parts required and the part numbers for them I was able to source them from my local auto electrical place, they were the Eberspacher agent for our area.
