We are planning to stay at Troutbeck Head caravan site this weekend, but the guide says it has a poor tv reception, but there is a tv point and booster on the electrical hookup bollard. This may sound daft, but does that mean we need to take a long length of tv ariel cable with normal tv plugs in order to use this facility, or can you borrow one?

I think you will need to take your own, unless this site is different than most------------- Jean
Sometimes a little rain must fall before you reach a rainbow.
The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you finish the work.

Ditto, even though you take your own it may still be bad------------- "You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen, it said 'Parking Fine.'" [Tommy Cooper]

The Ravenglass C&CC site provide leads, so it may be worth ringing the site before you buy a lead.------------- Bernie

I found an old lead in my shed, but ringing may be worth a go as I am not sure how good my old cable is.
Thanks

Good idea to have your own anyway. Quite a few sites have these bollard connections but most do not provide a cable. However they will sell you one........at a price!------------- Jennifer

If you do need to get one of your own, be sure to buy a good quality 'double shielded' one as the cheaper 'unshielded' ones can pick up too much RF interference.
get youself a length of 'CT100' grade cable made up

We were at Meathop (Newby Bridge) recently - they charged £12 to buy a 25 metre TV cable.
I bought the cable and terminals myself at a local £££ shop for £5 and made one up - it worked brilliantly.
I've noticed that the next few C.C. sites we're booked at have poor reception, and have TV connection points on the bollards, so my £5 should show a healthy return!!!

As many of you thought. We needed a cable. Unfortunatly the lead I already had was about 4ft too short. They did sell 25m cables at the site for £25. Needless to say I popped in the car to the nearest B&Q and sorted the problem for £10, saving the price of a nights stay. TV was fine, and they even had channels for the local radio, as the radio reception was also non existant. A good weekend
Thanks for all your advice.
