New to camping and although I have brought a campingaz twin cooker with mini grill I havent been brave enough to use it yet! This cost me a fortune in food on our 3 night break last week. It would have been cheaper to hire a Caravan.
I was worried about the rain, which it did alot of!. What do you guys do in poor weather? How can you cook when It rains?
Utility tent/dayroom rather than a gazebo you can store all your cooking and food stuff in it, kids are not allowed anywhere near the cooker and is less junk in the tent!

Our tent - an Outwel Indian 4 - has a really good canopy so we cook under that. You can get windbreaks with a canopy or a utility tent which has already been suggested by Katie.
Ill look out for one. More room for storage and keeping kids away sounds good. Do you get charged more for these on sites or does it come down to individual rules?

It depends on the site but normally its only a couple of pounds a night extra for a "day tent". Just ask when booking.
There's a small utility tent in the shop on here that's been recommended before. The one I have doesn't have a big enough slope to the back and collects rainwater when it pours down so I would advise getting one that goes to a point. I havn't been charged for mine, I explain that it's only the size of a large toilet tent and tell them that it is safer than cooking in the tent and site owners have always understood.
