Don't know if this has been posted before but found an intesting website that give detailed instruction on how to make you own trangia like meths burner. From empty drinks cans.

Though not found time to try it yet

looks like a lot of hard work and possibility of stabbing yourself in the process!  But if you're up for a bit of diy and self mutilation could be your thing!!

I think the guy who wrote the article missed a vital first line....

"first, serve a 4 year apprenticeship as a sheet metal worker"

Admitedly I still haven't tried it yet,

Aside from being careful with the sharp edges it doesn't look that tricky, the tools he talks about are:

Sharp knife, Good scissors, small drill, Hole punch (the sort you'd use for putting extra holes in a belt) a full drinks can and some glue.

There's no welding, soldering or metal shaping.

If I still have fingers to type with on Monday I'll post on how tricky it actually is.

looks interesting , but strikes me that the hardest part would be getting a reliable seal for  the  reservoir that didnt fail with expansion and contraction ovet time , be interesting to see if it works  though .
