Hi all again, yes I have another 'simple' question. Does anyone know where I can buy plastic glasses and plates from? All the usual places do not stock them yet.

Oh and also a small cheap 'quiet' generator ( I rarely use sites and hookups). Any help is great, thanks.
The description 'quiet' is relative to ambient conditions. Generators are sold as being quiet relative to an industrial or commercial background, but will be noisy when used in a virtually silent rural setting.

Honda, at a price - also Kipor, at a price. There is another company but I cannot find their site address at the moment.
There are cheapy Chinese copies made of the Hondas but I've heard very bad reports of them.
Yer pays yer money etc
I note that you say " I rarely use sites and hookups.". From that I take that you like "wild camping"? There's nothing quite like a Genny for advertising your presence
I see that you have a Burstner: Should be plenty of room on top of that for a 120w solar panel; that's what I use and do you know, you can't hear them running at all
Ikea is a good place for plastic plates etc - I don't know whether you have one near you though.
As for a 'quiet' generator - they don't exist. If you don't want hook-up either manage without electricity or use another way to generate it like solar panels (as mentioned before). All generators do is annoy everyone else on the campsite and ruin everyone elses holdiay.
There are good gennies out there and they are quiet. A genny is item of kit that you always imagine that you want - until you have one. Then you wish that you had spent the money on something else
Hi James; If you want a step up from plastic go for melamine plates. Most camping shops will have sets with plates, bowls etc or search on Ebay. We got unbreakable plastic beakers (look like glass) from Instore recently and some similar wine 'glasses' from Go Outdoors camping. Again most camping shops will have plastic glasses - they're not cheap but better than finding your best crystal has shattered and nothing to drink the red from (except the bottle which is more than satisfactory).

We must be experts - we are out standing in our chosen fields!
we had some lovely melamine plates - cost a blooming fortune and then last year in the heat they all cracked ! every last one of them ( the folk who make them or sell them dont give too hoots ) so anyway we now have some lovely matching sets from Asda - they are about 97p for 4 and not much more for the beakers, bowls etc.
We all think they are great and the kids wash them up a treat ! so what more could you ask for !
