Have just bought our new tent having begun camping last year and loving it. Just wondering about buying an electric lead - have read advice on which leads to buy but now wondering do most camp sites have hook up points? Are they expensive to use? Can't find this advertised on most campsites I've looked at - does that probably mean they don't have hook ups? Totally new to this so any advice gratefully received. Thank you
PS - Is it worth joining the camping and caravan club ???
Also any recommendations for camp sites in the north of england?
Sites that have EHU will show it in the price list or feature it. Most fully featured sites will offer EHU. Not too expensive bearing in mind the luxuries it can provide but does vary from site to site so keep looking. Go to the Camp Site Search part of the site and you'll find sites and reviews by name and town - just keep looking till you find what suits you. Towsure have good prices on EHU's and a few others have found them at bargain prices and added a thread on it. Do a search in the Equipment forum and they'll come up.
CCC? Don't know as not members but others may be able to advise.

The C&CC sites have hookups (not all pitches) but will have some you can use with your tent. You din't have to be a member to use some of the sites so why not try first and then decide. We are members 'cos we like their sites.
On average it costs £2 a night extra,we would not be without a EHU now.We now have heating,cooking (slow) lighting,fridge and recharge points.Home to home
most sites have ehu, we have never had a problem if we book in advance, as sapper696 says usually £2 more per night but ver handy in summer for fridge and when cooler the fan heater really makes the £2 worth it. when you go to book just mention you want a tent pitch with electric.
