I had a problem with my carver sb1800 heater but I have sourced a new cut out switch and the fire now works..
What I would like to know now is how do I heat up the water in the water tank.It is a copper tank that is sited under the seat on the right hand side of the van.My van is an Abbey GT212...There is a thermostat on the wall that has a green flashing light but even with the gas on there seems to be nothing happening with the heater..Do you need a 240 supply to heat the water?
I reckon the green flashing light is indicating a fault with the system e.g. No gas getting to the unit (maybe there is an isolator tap in your caravan for the water heater), no water in the unit, not enough power in the battery for the ignitor to work. That kind of thing.
You shouldn't need 240v power for the water heater to work.
------------- The Chinster.
Some people are just all show. I don’t mind that if the show is worth watching but ….
Hi, have you bled the hot water system? you need to open the hot tap until there is no air coming out of the system before it will work. Then make sure any vent covers are removed on the outside. then try to turn it on,
