Just browsing around and wondered if this would be suitable to keep my coolbox cool when electric hookup is not available. Or does anyone have any other suggestions?
I have one of those and they are ideal for low wattage items such as radios, lights etc; but according to the instructions they will only run a 48 watt cooler for 3 hours.
i dont think any 12 volt power supply will run a cool box for any longer than 6 hr without being recharged. we have had 2 12v coolers + flat car car battery, now got a 3 way portable fridge.
we some times use one like the halfords one to run the tv and free view box till it goes flat , then no more tv , usually only lasts an hour or so , the halfords one says it can do 12v for 50 hours , i dont think so .
we have a wabco cab 55,3 way fridge . that flatend the car batt in 20 mins enought for the car to turn over but not to start , .what we do is cool it down on mains at home ,we now use this
but ony have it connected when the engine is running when in the car
on site we use gas and some times 12v power of the bank of battries in the trailer if its a nice sunny day . thing is we have 680ah of power. most normal people only have 80 or even 110ah ,
something to rember is once the fridge is cool it wont use that much power or gas to keep it cold ,it getting it cold ( bringing down the temp from 14 celcius to 4 celcius that uses most of the gas or electric ..
and in fact if you want a ehu for a fridge and light , i would use gas for fridge and a gas lantern as its cheaper .
There are also a lot cheaper ones with the same spec..As in aldi recently, These powerpacks are ok for lighting but put a coollbox on it and it wont be working after an hour, It doesn't run until its flat only until its low enough not to run the appliance which maybe only 9v so they dont run for long .

I don't have enough fingers and toes to qualify as a maths teacher but glad it was of some help. I believe Halfords do a more expensive model but I doubt it would run a cooler for much longer.
I originally bought mine to power all the 12v in my caravan but then decided on a proper leisure battery. I used it to power a small TV/Radio/CD player and it had sufficient power (and more) to last a weekend of general intermittent use.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
