I just bought a ordinary domestic Ariel for around £10, i clamp this to a 4 section slot together aluminium pole. The bottom section of pole is permanently clamped to my rear roof access ladder. Depending of the signal strength in the area, will determine how many sections of pole i use & high i put the Ariel.
In the last few years of using this, I've not yet encountered any site where i cannot receive Digital TV.
This is why i never bothered having a Status Ariel fitted on my van, and the Aerials specifically designed for Caravans and Motorhomes, that you buy in Camping shops, are an extortionate rip off price, but are no better than this setup.
