Slowly travelling homewards (non-toll) at the end of last week, we noted queues at TotalEnergies but not others.
A quick Google suggested this was due to TotalEnergies capping petrol at 1.99€.
It was also reported that SOME stations had run out of SOME fuels.
I joined a short (6 or 7 mins) queue myself at Total (Montreuil-sur-Mer) on Friday (18/09/26) afternoon, for a last re-fill before tunnelling back to UK on Saturday. I paid 2.20 something for Gazole. Petrol was indeed showing as 1.99€ on the board.
I was literally followed in by a tanker, and the cashier duly followed me out to cone off. No idea which fuel was about to be topped-up.
Live near Sarlat in the Dordogne. Only places where there are queues are Total Energies stations where you can save a few bob.
Supermarkets - no problems, ditto the motorway services that aren't Total Energies, ditto the one in our village open 24/7 which is part of the Carrefour supermarket chain.
There's been no problems at the supermarkets, we did see a Total Energies forecourt in the Gironde closed and queues at another Total Energies forecourt a bit further north in the Charente-Maritime today (both on the D137 parallel to the A10), but elsewhere, plenty of fuel available with no restrictions and no queues, you just have to be prepared to pay through the nose for your fuel!
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
€2.399 at the local Carrefour Market in St Julien de Concelles near Nantes, no queues, no restrictions if you don't mind paying an arm, two legs and a kidney!
We paid an eye-watering €2.44 per litre for diesel at an Intermarche supermarket in a small town in the Loire last week, then "only" €2.37 yesterday at SuperU just down into Brittany. No signs of any shortages or queues except at Total Energie stations where diesel is advertised at €2.25.

Like you, the only queues or closed stations I've seen have been Total Energie stations.

I agree with the above. The only queues were at Total Energie fuel stations as they are cheaper. We did fill up there on the way home in a short queue as our car has a large fuel tank.
