Me again....we know we need hi viz jackets in the car, one each and easily accessible, when driving in France. My question is...do we just need just the two or, as we were told yesterday, one for each seat in the car even if only two people going to be in the car? I assumed one each was adequate.
Clearing up last minute questions before we go 🙂
Thanks.

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

OK brilliant. Not one for each seat regardless if occupied by someone as we were told yesterday then. Will only be two of us so will take two in the car as we had planned. Thanks.

If you got stopped for a traffic offence or were involved in an accident then a stroppy gendarme might check, but apart from the chances are remote.

Do the police ever pull you over to check this stuff?
I remember holidaying when the law was first introduced (about 2006) and lots of French drivers used to put the hi viz over the drivers seat so it was always visible.
Lived in France for the last 5 years and it's rare you'll see that now - and usually in a van making deliveries eg parcels. Never known anyone been stopped and checked specifically for hi viz / warning triangle, or even checked if they've been pullled over for something else - a rarity round here except in the early days of covid when any vehicle with a reg plate other than 24 for Dordogne or 46 for Lot was liable to be pulled over.
Both our cars have pockets on the back of the front seats, they live in there. We have first aid kits and triangles in both plus a bulb kit in the towcar.
When I was in Germany with the RAF, triangle, first aid kit and bulbs were mandatory in vehicles.
