My first EU camping trip had been completely without any issues, except for issues at Channel Tunnel.

I could not work out which lane to use for booking in, and had to get out of my van in order to access the ticket machine to get my boarding pass, which was kind of embarrassing.

How do other MHers cope with booking in without having to get out of your vans please, so that I know what to look for in future?

On the return leg of the journey, my train was cancelled without warning, and I was put on the next train 33min later.

I shall provide a more detailed write-up later, and to submit a campsite review - very much a "do nothing" day as it was a long journey yesterday coming home which took just over 14h on the road door to door, including 2 meals and a shopping trip at Auchan Hypermarket at Boulogne.

D’you mean that the check in machine was on the wrong side? Look for signs overhead with a UK flag and these will be on the correct side for the driver.
If you mean that the machine was too low down, that’s a bit odd, though you sometimes have to lean down.
Also in future be aware of these things if you go through a toll booth without a tag. If they assess your vehicle as tall, the ticket will appear in a higher slot well above your head.

Yes, the trains are subject to sudden change. We tend to arrive early, within the advised 2 hours, and almost always cross on the next train.

I meant the machine was too low down, and I was not able to access it and to collect the boarding pass without getting out of my van.

Hopefully, I shan't be using a toll booth without a tag as I found having a tag very useful.
