We often go to Montreuil sur Mer to have a couple of nights on the municipal site and take our dog to the vet before returning to the UK. This time our appointment was at 9 am. We came out about 9.20 and thought we’d have a coffee but not one of the cafes were open around the square - there are probably at least 5 different establishments. At one I saw someone coming out and asked if they were open. Not until 11 am was the reply. I asked her if there was anywhere in the town to get coffee before that but there wasn’t. We were staggered. In all our years of coming to France, we have never been in a town that size where coffee was not a possibility. Oh well, back to the campsite to make our own and at least the boulangerie was open and very good the croissants and baguettes were too!
