Just planning the summer hols and it looks like the pin in the map has suggested it's Northern Italy this year.
Looking at the travel down I have decided that I will sail from Hull to Holland.
This is where I ask for any one who has experience of driving through Europe for advice. I have only driven through France, and as such have limited experience of border crossing
We are leaving the caravan at home and using the tent.
If any of you people have the afore mentioned experience then maybe you could advise as to whether or not it is painless crossing borders as we will travel through several countries, or is it painful since Brexit?
Has anyone done a similar trip, if so could you recommend a hotel along the way, probably looing for somewhere just over halfway. We will share the drive, as the caravan isn't on, which means the present OH will gladly drive. So we will only be stopping over night once.
I've spent a while this afternoon using Google maps and various other trip planners, but I thought I'd ask on here too.
Thanks in advance
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
You will be checked on arrival at Rotterdam and passports will be stamped. There are no other checks or controls as you pass other borders on your route - though you will have to pause to buy a vignette for Switzerland and/ or Austria. For hotels I can would use Booking.com - it covers all price ranges.
Hi, In addition to Nethertons, as usual, good advice you could look at the B&B Hotels chain;

It is possible to get into Northern Italy without using tolls roads but it depends which part you are aiming for.
