Morning everyone,
Been looking at booking sites for July 2023, when putting in dates everything is coming up unavailable, can't believe everything is already booked so I'm presuming booking is not open yet, so my question is when do Frence sites start to take booking
Thank you

Some sites before the year end, most the turn of the year.

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Most sites don't really open for bookings until new year.
However it does depend upon which sites and when. All singing all dancing sites by the beach are more likely to have a rush for mid July-mid Aug.
There are so many camping sites in France that if site A is unavailable then siteB next door, will be.
Very popular sites may already be booked as folk rebook for the following year as they leave.
Otherwise, I suspect that bookings are not open yet, there is no date for this, you will probably have to keep checking.

Thanks for all your replies, looks like i might be abit early trying to book.
Will leave it a month or so before looking again, if no luck I'll wait until the new year.m
More time to look at a few more sites just encase the next one I find is better than the other 20 or so I've all ready looked at
WE tried to book for next year before we left the site we visit in August. No go, bookings open in January. I will be booking then, as we want particular pitches for room and shade.
Where are you looking to go?

I was told a few years ago that booking with the major clubs usually becomes available only after the Birmingham National Caravan and Motorhome show. Maybe try after the 23/10 though it could well be a little time after that. I have tried a few sites (direct) for June 2023 and have had the same unavailability. However, there are some sites showing 2023 booking is available and I have been able to book a few nights on this basis.
Which site are you trying to book? Are you booking directly through the site itself? If you can name the site someone may be able to tell you how necessary it is to book in advance. There are sites which book up quickly, from previous customers, but equally there are loads of sites in France, even in July, where you can just turn up and find a pitch.
Thanks for all your replies,
In reply to madasaman & Val A ,looking to go around the Medoc area especially around Hourtin area so I can make use of the lake area as I'm planning on taking my kayak.
Have got a short list of 3 or 4 sites at the moment Le Tedey ( slow village) maybe too big, camping Le Littoral and at the moment my favourite camping Les Ourmes which has been recommended by a few people on here

Hi, As said, email or webchat and then you may at least have a better idea.
I inquired recently re a Spanish site in the Yelloh chain and was told it would be November before prices were available.
When my wife was a teacher (2000 - 2017) we were naturally tied to school holidays. We always used to book in early January - never had a booking turned down due to sites being full. We went to some very popular sites including Interlude (Ile de Re), Soliel Plage (Dordogne), Val de Cantobre (Aveyron) & Monplaisir (St Remy de Provence).
