Our ferry from Santander arrives in Portsmouth at 20.00hrs. Does anyone know anywhere to stop within a couple of hours from Portsmouth? We used to stay at Sunnydale but recently it has become a bit expensive. Can you stay on the dock overnight?

If you are a CAMC member there are CLsites nearby or you can book a late arrival ferry pitch at their Rookesbury Park site.

If you are not a member you can book Dibles Park at Warsash.

If you want free parking overnight contact the Port Solent Marina

At Portsmouth once you've cleared Immigration/Customs, you're virtually off the site and on the public roads, never looked for it personally, but don't recall anywhere to even stop let alone park up after the checks!

Don't personally know of any camp sites in the area as never had need to stay in the region, but UKC search throws up quite a few within 20 miles.

We have stayed at Rookesbury park and they have designated ferry pitches which you can book and arrive whenever you like.

We were going to stay at Dibles Park earlier this year but in the end didn't need to stay overnight. The lady I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and seemed very accommodating though.

Winchester Morn Hill CAMC site now has ferry pitches. The site reopens this month after a refurb.
