Round our way, both the LeClerc and Carrefour in Sarlat are open all day - 8:30am to 8pm.

Increasingly shops stay open on Ascension, Assumption, Whitsun and All Saints Day - the influence of the catholic church is waning rapidly - can't remember the last time I saw an "heures des messes" sign on the approach to a village - they used to be everywhere at one time.
