I really don't understand why we write Dunkerque as 'Dunkirk', does anyone know?
I can't think of any other instances where the spelling of a place name changes to suit the nationality of the writer.
Burgundy is another one that I can think of - it is Bourgogne in French.

Our Prague is their Praha.
Happens here too: many road signs up here have the Gaelic as well as the English place name - sometimes very different (Fort William is An Gearasdan - the garrison), other times one is the Anglicised pronunciation or spelling (Inverness is Inbhir Nis). Presumably the same in Wales & maybe Cornwall, but I’ve not been to either for a decade or two.
Signposts in Belgium can read Liege Luik or Lüttich depending where you are all for the same town. Plenty of Belgium towns have different spelling Flemish or French. Some completely different so confusing when signposts change from one to ‘tother ie Mons or Bergen. Tournai or Doornik

I mostly find it works better to use the english pronunciation of French places to other Brits, it sounds pretentious to use the French pronunciation. Or they don't understand.

Completely agree. Still can't bring myself to say An-gurz for On-ghay (Angers) though!
