We, family of 5, are planning to go to France on 2nd July from Newhaven. We are all double vaccinated (last dose in June 2021) AND all had Covid in November. According to the French that makes us unvaccinated / a danger to society and, if the rules don't change, we need to have Covid Tests before we enter. Can anyone recommend somewhere near the ferry to get the tests and results quickly? It all seems rather old fashioned, expensive and a bit of a pain if I'm honest.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Rapid antigen tests with results in half hr can be done up to 48hrs before departure so find a place near your home & do them day before you leave. Or get boosters asap to allow time for your records to update before you leave. Boosters must be done at least 7 days before travel.

It is, so that's why most of us have had boosters. We may not want them, we may not think they're necessary, but until other countries decide that we have to comply with the rules. Otherwise we have to arrange time-consuming tests, which cost.
BUT more importantly, it may not be the best place to arrange a test near a ferry port just because of time restrictions, so find a convenient place near your home and have it done, and the results back before you set off. After all, if by the remotest chance you tested positive, your holiday would be scuppered.

Our problem with carrying out a test close to home is we are travelling from Northern Ireland and spending a couple of days travelling down England! By the time we reach the ferry they will be out of date. The thought of getting booster jabs, which medically we do not need, for my family is not appealing. Therefore, I was hoping someone could recommend somewhere we could get tested near Newhaven.

Sorry to jump in , we're travelling on the 29th July both daughters 13 and 16 only had their two vaccines. So if I'm reading it correctly they both need antigen tests? Or like you say boosters asap
I would get Randox £11 tests - do them at home, upload the result onto the Certifly app and then print off the certificate. Better that than MORE vaccines! Medically speaking, the chance they need a vaccine is miniscule.

I have a 13 year old. Looking on the advice sites of both Governments I can't see any clarification with regards to boosters and vaccination. It says that if you have a booster then you are covered. However, you can't book boosters for under 16's..We as a family are all vaccinated and boosted, other than the 13 year old who is vaccinated but not boosted

I know it's confusing, both me and hubby had all 3 vaccinations but 13 and 16 yr haven't. The 16 isn't due her booster til after we return.
My husband as been advised by a travel agent that the girls will be ok will just 2 vaccinations and NHS prove . But gov website doesn't read like that.
I have a 12 year old that has had 2 jabs but isn't eligible for a booster. I have been trying to find out what the EU definition of "fully vaccinated" is for a 12 year old but haven't managed to find anything definitive yet.
I did find this on the French Embassy's website https://uk.ambafrance.org/Vaccine-pass-in-France :
Health passes for children aged 12-15
The health pass for 12- to 15-year-olds consists in presenting one of these three pieces of evidence:
1. Vaccination, on condition that people have completed a full course of vaccination and left the necessary period of time after the final injection, i.e.:
28 days after the injection for single-dose vaccines (Johnson & Johnson);
7 days after the second injection for double-dose vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca);
7 days after the injection for vaccines for people who have previously had COVID-19 (in this case, only one dose is necessary).
So as my 12 year old had his second jab in March I *think* he should be ok. I might email the French consulate to ask them directly....
