Not a joke honestly. Haven’t been able to get any no matter where we try. It’s apparently due to a bad seed harvest last year made worse by the war in Ukraine. So if you see some…

Did read that a few weeks ago, good job friends visiting from France brought as a large 1100g jar. Sorted.

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Mustard and cooking oil limited to 1 or 2 per person in the French supermarkets we've been in. Big gaps on the shelves where you usually find sunflower oil etc.
Plenty of sunflower oil this morning at Leclerc in Vallauris and a sign saying “max of 2 pots of mustard per person”. But it didn’t matter because there wasn’t any anyway

Just a tip, we found some Colmans in the 'World Foods section' of our local Carrefour. They were the only jars of mustard in our very large hypermarket. BUT also our smaller Huit a Huit shop had some Maille mustard. Worth looking at alternatives.
W3 arrived in France today first night at Camping St Nicholas near Bernay.
We will have find some alternative as we like a bit of Dijon moutarde with a BBQ

No mustard shortage in our local LeClercs at Sarlat today. Very short on herbs and spices though, couldn't get smoked paprika which I use when making roast spuds or chips in the air fryer.

It's hard to find - some places just don't seem to stock it, so I was delighted to find some in our local Lidl for just 49 cents!

Took a jar of English 'French Mustard' with us last week, and didn't use it as had a rather nice freshly made mushroom and red wine sauce with our steak instead, sadly forgot to taunt our French neighbours with it as well, never thought about selling to highest bidder and financing our trip from the proceeds, what amateurs we were!
On the subject of unobtainable items in France, we were mortified a few years back when we discovered you couldn't get BROWN SAUCE for love nor money in any of the supermarkets we tried, now what sorry Full English Breakfasts we suffered that week without a good dollop of Brown Sauce (We HAD taken, ENGLISH bacon, black pudding and sausages to ensure we could do a proper FEB)! Not made that mistake again, ample supplies now on the 'To Take' list!
