Help please with campsite recommendations near Dijon in France!
I have one site in mind, however, it is still not accepting bookings via their website, and had not received replies to my requests via e-mails and also their webform.
I am growing increasing uncomfortable about the lack of communications, and my selection was based on one recent review.
Hence this request for recommendations please.
Thanks for your help in advance.

We stayed at the Lac Kir site. It was functional but nothing special in itself, but we chose it because of its location - it’s in parkland with a pleasant half hour walk into the city, though there is a bus as well. . It was peak season but we didn’t book and they squeezed us in. I believe they re open in April and so are unlikely to repliy to enquiries till then.

That's the site I have earmarked and have received no communications/responses to my enquiries!
Thanks for the recommendation though.

I've had a look on Google Maps and the sign on the front of the campsite says (in French) that they are open April-Oct - I would leave it a until just before Easter and I expect you will get a reply.

I am not used to that kind of tardiness!
It is the only campsite left to book for 2026 which is a tad annoying.

We stayed at Camping du Lac Kir in 2010 and left a comprehensive review on here.
However, from reading other more recent reviews, it would appear nothing much has changed in the intervening years.
Unfortunately, there don’t seem to be many other sites around, and certainly none close to Dijon.

Yup, that's the issues I am having - not many sites near Dijon with recent reviews.
I might have to go elsewhere to look for alternative sites.

Since I have planned to tour Europe every year going forward, I am going to take out a ACSI subscription.
I can get discounts right away for this year's sites in France and Germany if I join now.

Dk, just take care with sites where you have paid a deposit. Though we never book in advance, I seem to recall on here where folk have had issues with booking ahead/using ACSI. I don't think there's any rule about it, but some sites do say you can't book in advance and also get ACSI discount.

Thanks for the advice, and I shall bear that in mind!
At this moment in time, I am using ACSI mainly for campsite searches as site reviews on UKCS could be limited where I would like to go.

If you want to explore Dijon and can`t stay close by, just look at trains. We often stay at the site in Chagny, south of Beaune, and the station is a 10 minute stroll from the campsite. We use the train to visit Dijon, Beaune, and Chalons, it is very easy.

The campsite in Germany has applied the ACSI rate to my booking, saving 24 EUR for my 6-night stay, result!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable day in Dijon - and unless anyone wants to tour the palace and tne museum it only needs a day. We strolled around with our eyes open and just looked. We were amazed by the food didplays in tne indoor market hall, and we ate with local people in a tiny restaurant nearby. It’s a fine city.
For us the Lac Kir campsite was just somewhere to sleep and have breakfast. We would go again on that basis and see no reason to be too picky or choosy or to avoid it.
A day of all things motorhome and campervan. The show is held both in the main indoor arena and across the grounds. Catering, hot drinks and food options are available. Easy access to the site and free parking included. Win one of five pairs of day tickets
