Hi, Do you mean Wi-Fi for watching TV?
With a “standard” set up you will need a dish and there is no guarantee of receiving a signal.
Using a TV or tablet you will need to use a VPN which, in our limited experience, is very hit and miss.
I suggest spending the money at the bar may be less stressful than attempting to watch British TV whilst away!
French TV is freely available I can follow a fair bit of it, but rarely bother.
We take a wallet of dvds for the odd wet evening in. We have a 60cm satellite kit which will only pick up in the North so it stays at home.
It was mainly used pre digital days on sites in Wales where TV reception was poor, now its usually OK. If not we can live without it.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

We often use Tunnel Bear to look at local news etc
I have a newer Category 6 Huawei E5783B-230 with a Three (3) pay monthly SIM for my van, as a back up to my EE 4G mobile phone.
I have not used either to watch TV/streaming on my laptop, only for work using my laptop, for e-mails, access to servers and video conferencing via Zoom or MS Team in UK so far.
Reception is hit and miss, largely dependent upon network coverage.
Being sited inside a metal box with the door closed, signal strength is further reduced.
Can't comment whether mine would be good enough for watching TV via streaming on my laptop.
Please bear in mind that you would need to pay about 2.00 GBP per day for roaming abroad in Europe - some if not all the big providers have already announced this charge.
I have a Freeview TV in my van, again, reception is largely dependent on signal strength, and some locations are a lot better than others. I have not taken my van across to Europe yet, so I cannot comment on how good it is.
I too carry a selection of DVDs with me in case I feel like watching a film from time to time.
