Hi
I will checkout the search facility but just wondered if anyone has any good site recommendations for the following;
Probably north to Mid France but we’re flexible as we’re going over in September and not going to book but see what the weather is like.
I’m after somewhere that has good walks from the site for our two spoilt pooches and potentially interesting local cycle routes.
We have found with many of our favourite sites it’s hard to find a good place for the doggies to go for a good run with some variety of scenery. So just thought I’d see if anyone had any recommendations.
We’re aiming to Stop at Paille D’haute for one night (or for a few nights) undecided yet.
Some of our favourite places to stop are” Ferme Des Aulnes near Saint Valery sur Somme
Camping Clos Normand in Sees

Is Chartres too far? Their ACSI discount starts on 1st Sept. As well as the river heading towards the city centre you can walk or cycle the other way into pleasant countryside and eventually a lake.
And hopefully the further south you are, the better chance of better weather.
A bit further than Sees, but the site at La Fleche is excellent and there is a path east along the river that runs for about a mile to a large recreational lake with paths around it. Perfect for walking and cycling. In addition there are a number of good cycle routes starting at the old station, most notably a couple of old railway lines that have been surfaced for bikes and go for miles.Last time we were there we did an out-and-back ride of about 30 miles in total. The site also takes ACSI cards and is very reasonably priced with good facilities and an easy walk into town - - 10 minutes max.
Alsace is pretty good for visits at that time of year - vineyard harvest just beginning, fetes, festivals and celebrations in every village, good campsites of every size and style according to your preferances.

Yes it is Route d`or. I think many sites say `no twin axles` as a precaution to keep `travellers` away. I am sure if you get in touch it won`t be a problem. The manager speaks good English by the way.
If you go to La Fleche, there are pitches on the immediate right laid out in rows with hedging between, if you go straight on the site opens out and the pitches are more `open plan`, which we prefer. I should add that there is also a pool there.

I would have thought Ile d'Oleron would be better, especially at the northern end around St Georges d'Oleron and Boyerville, which is dog friendly with great runs through the forest
The island has far better cycling, is less commercial and it doesn't cost anything to get onto

Can echo this - we were in Boyardville for four days in June, cycling is great. The marina end of the beach is definitely dog friendly, plus as SG Thomas has said there are miles of woodland tracks. Boyardville has lots of bars and restaurants at the marina. We stayed at Camping Signol, which was busy in June but should be quieter in September - lovely pool complex. They do have restrictions on their bar/snack bar and shop hours outside the peak season, but there’s a boulangerie and mini market in the port. You’ll need a stop off if coming from Calais but it’s worth it for the weather and relaxing atmosphere.
La Ferme des Aulnes is now only a mobile home site, doesn't take tourers anymore.
Agree with Stuart about Ile d'Olereon; we were there for a week in June and did loads of cycling. we've been there a number of times. This time stayed at Le Suroit, ACSI accepted and has a lovely pool as well.
Last September also stayed at La Fleche for about 4 days; agree with previous comments about that site and it's great for cycling too. Did visit the lake mentioned by badger54, and also used the cyclepath along the disused railway.
There’s a brilliant municipal site at Argentan which backs onto a park with a small lake, which then leads to a nature reserve type area, perfect for dog walks. The site is similar to Sees, but better in our opinion! Can’t comment on cycling though, sorry.
The site is immaculately kept - and cheap! - though is popular for overnights so might be worth booking the first night at least if you intend going there.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
