our favourite campsite is fully booked for when we want to go, looking for a lively campsite right on the river, bar entertainment etc, ideally near vallon but willing to look elsewhere, so long as has a pool and safe to swim and kayak

Almost all the sites on the Ardeche river are lively in mid-summer. Which was your favourite, otherwise we might all suggest that one?

Have you tried Camping l'Ardechois? It's not far from Pont d'Arc.

We used to love L'Ardechois, nice walk into Vallon. Great position on the river. Haven't been back for a few years though, as we store elsewhere.

A couple of years ago when looking at L'Ardechois if you were staying more than a couple of nights you needed a secured loan for the cost.

Camping Domaine de Gill, at Ucel village, close to Vals Les Bains, and a 1 Euro return bus ride to Aubenas.

That was our go to Ardeche campsite for a couple of fortnight holidays, perfect for us in every way.
